Erik Garcia-Bautista

As a first-generation college graduate and proud “Dreamer,” Erik is passionate about helping underserved communities and empowering the next generation of central valley residents through education. Born in Oakland, CA, Erik was 7 years old when his family moved to the central valley to start their own food business at the local flea market, where he helped his parents while he was still in high school and college. After 2-years at Modesto Junior College, he transferred to California Polytechnic State University where he double majored in History and Political Science and minored in international law and policy. During his undergraduate program, Erik sparked  a passion in advocating for underserved communities as he volunteered at campus student club that advocated for crucial resources for undocumented students on campus. Erik recently started his own translation business helping immigration attorneys to file immigration requests. Erik is excited to utilize his experience building coalitions with diverse communities and his passion for increasing civic participation towards bettering Stockton and the future of its residents.
