AmeriCorps Week

An article in news updates
AmeriCorps hosted a week (March 13-17) dedicated to celebrating and thanking AmeriCorps members, volunteers, and community partners for their continuous impact on communities and on the lives of those who serve. Stockton Service Corps gladly took part in the celebration by hosting a 2-day site on March 13-14 visit to share some of the most remarkable and impactful work happening in Stockton through national service programs. We invited guests from across the state representing various sectors that center people in their work. We created a memorable experience for our guests to leave knowing that Stockton holds a special place in their hearts.

Embodying the spirit of volunteerism, we incorporated service on day 2 of the site visit on March 14. We partnered with Stockton Emergency Food Bank to support packaging meal boxes to distribute daily to our local residents. We had over 23 volunteers and collectively provided over 60 service hours where we packaged over 600 meal boxes. We want to give a huge appreciation to the food bank for providing the space and time to share with us.

Last but not least, we want to give a huge thanks and appreciation to our community partners, program partners, Service Fellows and Service Alumni for sharing your experience!  Also, we want to give big thanks to Reinvent Stockton Foundation and their staff for their continuous support throughout the site visit!
